China's Changzhou Almaden to build USD-30m PV factory in Dubai
Oct 15, 2014 - Chinese company Changzhou Almaden Stock Co Ltd (SHE:002623) will build an AED-110-million (USD 30m/EUR 23.4m) photovoltaic (PV) panels factory at the Dubai Silicon Oasis, the zone’s operator said today.
The PV glass coating specialist from China expects to complete the plant in the first quarter of 2015. It will be able to produce as many as 400,000 solar panels annually, using a super thin dual glass PV technology.
Changzhou Almaden has already signed a deal with the Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA), which is controlled by the emirate’s government, for locating the plant at the free zone technology park. The PV factory will also include a training centre.
The Chinese company is a major producer of PV anti-reflective coated glass. It is now nearing the launch of a new ultrathin physically tempered solar glass and is also advancing its anti-reflective coated solar glass and anti-glaring electronic glass technologies. Apart from China, Changzhou Almaden is also doing business in Germany, the US and Australia.
