Airbus sets up hydrogen tech development centre in UK
May 27, 2022 14:25 CESTApril 29 (Renewables Now) - Ningxia Baofeng Energy Group Co Ltd (SHA:600989) has commenced the operation last week of a hydrogen production facility in China that is powered by a 200-MW solar photovoltaic (PV) park.
The complex is located in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region of northwestern China, where it initiated operations on April 20, state broadcaster CGTN reported.
The hydrogen produced at the site will replace carbon-intensive energy sources like coal. More specifically, the output of the new plant could reduce coal consumption by 254,000 tonnes per year, leading to a 445,000-tonne carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions cut, authorities have estimated.
CGTN said that this is the world's largest solar-powered hydrogen plant.
