The share of the so-called non-conventional renewables in Chile’s total power production in August came to 31.8%.
Power production from renewable sources rose by 14.1% year-on-year to 2,369 GWh gross in September. Compared to August, production levels increased by 5.9%.
The total installed renewable energy capacity also increased from one month to the next. At the end of September, Chile had a total of 11,053 MW net installed, up from 10,398 MW in August. According to CNE, non-conventional renewables accounted for 36.4% of all capacity installed across Chile’s three grid systems.
