Nov 28, 2014 - Chile's environmental committee for Valparaiso region today accepted for evaluation the 126-MW Olmue solar project of Inversiones y Servicios SunEdison Chile Ltda, a unit of SunEdison Inc (NYSE:SUNE).
The project, worth some USD 300 million (EUR 240.3m), represents a photovoltaic park with an installed capacity of 145 MWp, to be built near the 220-kV Polpaico-Quillota line. The facility will inject its output to the central power system SIC.
SunEdison has already installed 150 MWp in Chile's Atacama region, while in October the company secured USD 130 million in debt financing for the construction of its 69.5-MW Javiera solar project in the same region.
