Colombian power company Celsia SA announced on Thursday that it has put into operation a 9.9-MWp solar farm at home.
The Celsia Solar Buga I solar plant, which required an investment of over COP 55 million (USD 13.2m/EUR 12.2m), is located in the southwestern department of Valle del Cauca.
Its output will benefit local animal food company Solla as well as domestic lipids, nutrition and frozen bakery firm Alianza Team.
As Buga I capacity exceeds 8 MW, Celsia partnered with Cubico Sustainable Investments for the development of the solar park.
With the new solar plant, Celsia now has six farms in Valle del Cauca totaling 59.1 MW of installed capacity. Overall, the Colombian firm has 14 solar farms across the country for a combined capacity of over 200 MWp, it noted.
