Brazilian solar energy subscription service enertech Sun Mobi announced it will set up a 5-MW solar photovoltaic (PV) plant in the countryside of Sao Paulo state.
The company will invest BRL 23 million (USD 4.4m/EUR 4m) to build the PV park in Taubate municipality. Domestic firm and Sun Mobi’s partner GET Energy Trading will contribute to the investment.
The commissioning of the plant is scheduled for the second half of 2023. The new solar park will be in the concession area of EDP Sao Paulo, the regional arm of Brazilian power utility EDP Energias do Brasil SA (B3:ENBR3).
Based on Sun Mobi's estimates, the new PV facility will generate 658,000 kWh per month, enough to meet the demand of 1,647 homes. The new solar park will supply clean power to buildings of all sizes, including houses, apartments, rental properties, businesses, and industries.
