The government of Pernambuco is negotiating with two solar panel manufacturers to establish capacities in the state, reports news website Canal Energia.
The state government is also planning to attract manufacturers of inverters and other components which can either set up plants here or license their technology to Pernambuco-based firms.
The State Secretary of Energy, Eduardo Azevedo, believes that the postponement of projects auctioned in 2013, which failed to meet the initial deadline for power generation on July 1, 2015, will actually be a good thing for local manufacturers. The 82 MWp of delayed solar projects will be looking for equipment suppliers.
Azevedo said, after his participation in the 2nd edition of PV Power Brazil, that due to this postponement solar manufacturing companies have more time to settle in the state.
