(SeeNews) - Nov 13, 2013 - Brazilian energy ministry yesterday set at BRL 122 (USD 52/EUR 38) per MWh the maximum price for the electricity to be offered by wind and solar plants at the government's A-5 energy auction, scheduled for December 13.<br /> However, this ceiling price is considered too low by local sector specialists.<br /> For comparison, small-scale hydro plants and thermal plants will offer their future electricity output for maximum BRL 144 per MWh.<br /> EPE has so far registered for participation 152 PV solar plants and 10 heliothermal plants and also hydro, thermal, wind and solar power projects with overall capacity of 35.067 GW.<br /> These projects are expected to start supplying their production as of May 1, 2018.<br /> (BRL 1.0 = USD 0.429/EUR 0.319)
