Brazil adds 137 MW of wind, solar in June

Brazil added 137.2 MW of wind and solar power capacity in June, the nation's power sector regulator said on Thursday.

The system added 87.6 MW of wind and 49.6 MW of solar power across the country, the latest figures show.

During the first six months of the year, Brazil's electricity system grew by 2,328 MW of new capacity across different technologies.

Brazil came at the end of June with a total of 183,593.3 MW installed in the country. Over half of this is generated by hydropower plants, including micro and small power stations of up to 30 MW.

Wind and solar power accounted for 11.82% and 2.81%, respectively, at the end of June.
