November 15 (Renewables Now) - Germany’s Belectric Solar & Battery GmbH said today it will build a 120-MWp solar power station near the village of Zeelim in Israel jointly with local firm Solel Boneh Ltd.

The engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract was awarded to Belectric by the project owner -- Shikun & Binui Renewable Energy Ltd, which is the renewables unit of local infrastructure and real estate group Shikun & Binui.

Belectric expects to begin construction work in the upcoming months and to complete the plant in 2019. Its local unit and Solel Boneh will be servicing the facility upon completion.

This will be the largest solar park in Israel and also the biggest single photovoltaic (PV) project implemented by Belectric outside of Germany, it said in a press statement. The company has already executed 17 projects in Israel for a total capacity of about 200 MW.
