Argentina's Chaco signs LoI for 15-MW PV project

The governor of Argentina's Chaco province, Domingo Peppo, signed on Tuesday a letter of intent (LoI) for a 15-MW solar photovoltaic (PV) project with local firm Green Friendly.

The total cost of the Villa Angela solar scheme is estimated at USD 17 million (EUR 13.9m). The plant is expected to generate 24,000 MWh per year, enough to meet the average consumption of Villa Angela municipality for six months. Thus the province will be the sole buyer of the plant's output, the local government said.

The LoI's goal is to establish guidelines and worthy commitments to promote the development of this initiative in Villa Angela. For this, state-run company SECHEEP will collaborate with Green Friendly in regards to the technical solutions necessary for the connection of the solar plant to the network, the province noted.
