Argentina RenovAr Round 2, 38 MW signing

March 27 (Renewables Now) - Argentina has signed contracts for 38 MW of green projects that were selected in the country's renewable energy auction programme RenovAr Round 2.

Power purchase agreements (PPAs) were inked with Argentina's wholesale electric market management company CAMMESA for two solar and one biogas plant, the ministry's Undersecretariat for Renewable Energy announced on Tuesday.

The 20-MW PS V Maria Del Rio Seco and the 17-MW Ps Cura Brochero photovoltaic (PV) projects, to be located in the municipalities of Villa Maria de Rio Seco and Cura Brochero, are developed by local Neuss Fund.

Located in the department of Rio II, the 1-MW CT Villa del Rosario biogas facility is owned by Crops Investments SA. Together, these three projects are capable of generating enough power to meet the demand of 22,000 homes in the province of Cordoba, the government noted.
