Argentina approves 145 MW of new PV plants

Argentina's Ministry of Energy and Mining approved the entry of three new solar plants with a combined capacity of 145 MW into the country's Wholesale Electricity Market (MEM).

The Lavelle and Lujan de Cuyo photovoltaic (PV) plants will be connected to Empresa Distribuidora de Electricidad de Mendoza SA (Edemsa) facilities, while La Puna will be connected to the Cobos-Andes high voltage line operated by the international carrier Interandes SA.

The governmental approval was granted after the needed environmental and social impact studies were conducted and the requirements of current legislation regarding corporate and commercial documentation were meet.
