May 12 (Renewables Now) - Ampt LLC, a US power conversion technology firm focused on the solar sector, has completed the delivery of string optimisers for a 240-MW solar-plus-storage project in Chile.

The company has supplied its products for use in a system in Atacama Desert plateau that generates and stores electricity to support the copper mining operations of Sierra Gorda SCM.

The string optimisers are used for connecting the solar photovoltaic (PV) park to 112 MW/560 MWh of lithium-ion batteries through a shared DC bus.

Fort Collins, Colorado-based Ampt said that its equipment will help lower the cost and improve the performance of the system.
