November 30 (RenewablesNow) - Argentina's Jujuy government signed a letter of intent with the French Development Agency (AFD) and the European Investment Bank (EIB) for the finance of 95 MW of distributed solar projects.

Jujuy's press release, published on Thursday, did not mention the exact size of the financing, which will be used to develop a total of 13 photovoltaic (PV) projects with locations ranging from the cities of La Quiaca to Yuto. Once completed, the plants will meet direct power consumption through a connection with the provincial network distributor EJESA.

Under the signed document, EIB and AFD express their willingness to accompany and financially support these PV projects, with the French agency acting as a co-financier of EIB. Argentina's national government is also granting the sovereign guarantee that the province needs to be able to access international credits.
