December 18 (Renewables Now) - German renewables developer ABO Wind AG (ETR:AB9) on Friday said it has sold two 10-MW ready-to-build solar projects in Argentina.

The projects, named Del Amanecer and Los Alamos, are backed by tariffs secured in Argentina’s renewable energy tender round RenovAR 3.

The buyer is a European renewable energy company whose name was not disclosed in Friday’s press release. ABO Wind said the new owner plans to start construction in 2021. The German developer would stay along to provide construction supervision for both projects.

The permitting process and licensing are finalised and the projects are ready for construction after some two years since the site was acquired. The plants will be located in the province of Catamarca in the northwest of Argentina.

While the coronavirus pandemic exacerbated Argentina’s ongoing economic crisis, ABO Wind said it is nevertheless committed to continuing with project development in the country.
