Yingli supplying modules for 38-MW rural PV project in China

Chinese photovoltaics (PV) maker Yingli Green Energy Holding (NYSE:YGE) said today it is supplying solar panels totalling 38.4 MW for a rural distributed PV poverty alleviation project in China.

A total of 128 arrays, each with a capacity of 300 kW, will be installed at one site for low-income villages in Zhangbei County, Hebei Province, as part of this project. Upon completion, it will benefit more than 10,000 low-income villagers in the county for a period of 20 years.

Yingli Green will supply more than 140,000 solar modules for the project, including Panda Bifacial panels, multi-crystalline 12 bus-bars panels and multi-crystalline black silicon panels. Furthermore, the project will make use of the axis tracking system to capture more sunlight.

All solar arrays are expected to be hooked to the grid in the final quarter of 2017.
