January 14 (Renewables Now) - Watson Farley & Williams (WFW) this week said it has advised two buyers of solar assets in Italy in deals for a total of 6 MW of capacity.

The UK-based law firm advised French independent power producer Smart Energies Transition SA on the purchase of a photovoltaic (PV) portfolio from Ensource Renewables Srl. The acquisition covered special purpose vehicles Escogen Srl and Ensource 3 Srl, which own the rights to construct eight rooftop solar arrays with a combined capacity of about 5 MW in the Lombardy, Veneto, Lazio and Marche regions.

In a separate deal, a German investment fund acquired Intesol Energie Srl, which owns and operates a 1-MW solar park in Ravenna, Emilia Romagna. The project qualifies for feed-in-tariffs under the IV Conto Energia programme.
