Westinghouse Solar gets 4th US patent for solar panel technology
Aug 19, 2011 - US solar power systems provider Westinghouse Solar (NASDAQ:WEST) yesterday said it had received a fourth patent from the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for its Andalay solar panel technology.
The Andalay technology features the integration of the racking and mounting components into the solar panel. The technology is integrated in the company's 235 watt solar panels, and in its flat roof solar power systems.
Westinghouse said it had sold some USD 100 million (EUR 69.4m) of solar power systems using the Andalay technology since 2007.
The company added that it has related patents issued in Australia, India, Korea and Mexico.
