-- Galetech invests in wind O&M co Optinergy

Renewable energy company Galetech Group has bought “a majority stake” in Optinergy Ltd, a provider of operations and maintenance (O&M) services to the wind industry in Ireland, Northern Ireland and the UK.

-- Poland's R.Power buys 59-MWp solar project bundle in Portugal

Polish solar project developer R.Power announced it has acquired a 59-MWp portfolio of solar projects in Portugal and is looking for new investments in the Iberian country.

-- Brazil's CBA completes 171.6-MW wind portfolio acquisition

Brazilian aluminium producer CBA (BVMF:CBAV3) has finalised the acquisition of a 49% stake in a 171.6-MW wind portfolio from VTRM Energia, the joint venture formed by Votorantim Energia and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB).

-- BayWa r.e. sells 64.4-MWp solar farm in Poland to Alternus Energy

German renewables company BayWa r.e. AG announced that it has sold its 64.6-MWp Witnica solar farm in Poland to Ireland-based independent power producer Alternus Energy Group Plc (OSE:ALT).

-- Sonnedix buys 112 MWp of mature solar projects in Spain

Independent solar power producer (IPP) Sonnedix Power Holdings Ltd has acquired a 112-MWp portfolio of solar PV projects under development in Spain, it said.

-- Shell, CoensHexicon set up Korean floating wind JV for 1.4-GW project

A unit of Dutch oil and gas major Royal Dutch Shell Plc (AMS:RDSA) has formalised the creation of a joint venture with CoensHexicon Co Ltd with the objective of developing and operating a 1.4-GW floating wind farm off the south-east coast of South Korea.

-- Norway's IWS to buy 30% stake in Danish consultancy Peak Wind

Norwegian wind industry services provider Integrated Wind Solutions AS (IWS) has agreed to acquire a 30% stake in Peak Wind A/S, which offers operations and asset management advice and services for the offshore wind sector around the world.

-- EIG Partners buys 49-MW UK battery system from EDF

US institutional investor EIG Partners said it has acquired a 49-MW battery storage facility in Nottinghamshire, England, from UK-based EDF Energy.

-- UK trio forms 350-MW solar JV in New Zealand

UK solar project developer Hive Energy and compatriots Ethical Power and Solar South West (SSW) have set up a joint venture (JV) to deploy close to 350 MW of utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) capacity in New Zealand.

-- Reliance Industries nearing acquisition of Norway's REC - report

Indian conglomerate Reliance Industries Ltd (BOM:500325) is close to buying Norwegian solar module manufacturer REC Group from China National Chemical Corp, or ChemChina, in a deal worth up to USD 1.2 billion, the Economic Times reports.

-- TransAlta Renewables to buy 122-MW US solar portfolio from CIP

Canadian independent power producer (IPP) TransAlta Renewables Inc (TSE:RNW) said it has agreed to buy a 122-MW solar power plant portfolio in North Carolina from a fund managed by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP).

-- Quanta Services to buy Blattner for up to USD 3bn

Quanta Services Inc (NYSE:PWR) has struck a deal worth up to USD 3 billion to take over Blattner Holding Company, which provides front-end engineering, procurement, project management and construction services to the renewable energy industry.

-- BASF buys 49.5% of Hollandse Kust Zuid offshore wind project

German chemicals company BASF SE (ETR:BAS) has closed the purchase of a 49.5% interest in the 1.5-GW Hollandse Kust Zuid (HKZ) offshore wind farm project in Dutch waters from Vattenfall AB for about EUR 300 million after receiving all necessary regulatory approvals.
