Oct 4, 2013 - US thin-film solar module developer Ascent Solar Technologies Inc (NASDAQ:ASTI) said yesterday that its EnerPlex solar-integrated chargers could be purchased from US retail giant Wal-Mart’s (NYSE:WMT) online store.
The EnerPlex products are suitable for portable electronic devices. In the product line are solar-powered charging cases with battery storage and solar-powered charging cases for Apple’s (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone and Samsung Electronics’s (KRX:005935) Galaxy smartphone.
In August, Ascent Solar said its second-quarter net loss had widened to USD 7.1 million (EUR 5.2m) from USD 5.9 million a year earlier due to higher operating costs. Revenues climbed to USD 225,050 from USD 154,550 in the second quarter of 2012, helped by increased consumer product sales. Product revenues accounted for USD 166,000 of the total amount, up from USD 63,000.
