Indian multi-technology company Waaree Energies Ltd said on Thursday it has commissioned a 10-MW solar power station in Maharashtra for local firm Sharda Construction and Corporation Pvt Ltd (SCCPL).
Mumbai-based Waaree won the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for the plant after SCCPL won the project under the Domestic Content Requirement (DCR) category of Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission’s Phase 2, Batch 1.
Waaree noted it finished the job in less than 90 days regardless of the challenging conditions it faced, including undulated land and an extreme slope.
In addition to providing EPC services, Waaree is engaged in the production of solar modules and has a 500-MW PV factory in Surat, Gujarat. The firm also supplies rooftop solutions and solar water pumps.
In February, the company said it planned to further expand its Surat panel production facility to 1 GW.
