October 5 (Renewables Now) - French renewable power plants operator Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) will start offering solar installation services to residential clients in mainland France under a partnership with domestic retail chain Leroy Merlin.

The turnkey service will be available on Leroy Merlin’s website to homeowners willing to add photovoltaic (PV) panels atop their roofs. French home improvement, decoration and gardening materials retailer Leroy Merlin will start marketing the option on its website from October 5, Voltalia said on Monday.

Voltalia and Leroy Merlin will combine their expertise in home furnishings and improvements and renewable energy, respectively. Both companies operate in France and internationally.

The solar panel installation offer will be accompanied by customer support services, including a simulation tool for supporting clients decide on technical matters such as the size of the installation. The PV panels and inverters will come with a 12-year guarantee.

Leroy Merlin and Voltalia have been collaborating since 2020 when the retailer starter selling Voltalia-assembled solar kits for self-installation across its chain.
