Indian firm Vikram Solar Pvt Ltd said on Friday it has commissioned a 130-MW solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant in Bhadla, Rajasthan for power major NTPC Ltd (BOM:532555).
The particular facility comprises two 65-MW parks that are connected to Bhadla 220 KV Pooling Station-1. Each of them is spread across an area of 321 acres (129.9 ha) and can generate 106.22 million kWh. Vikram Solar used polycrystalline modules of 295 Wp to 320 Wp in size for the two parks.
Apart from building the plant, Vikram will also be providing operations and maintenance (O&M) services at the site over the next five years. The company noted that its portfolio of already commissioned solar projects now surpasses 275 MW.
This latest project, developed under the so-called State Specific Bundling Scheme, will help NTPC reach its goal of setting up 1,000 MW of renewable energy capacity by the end of 2017.
