April 1 (SeeNews) - Danish wind turbine maker Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) said Thursday it has received a 21-MW order from a unit of US-based Hunt Energy Horizons (Hunt Oil) for a wind park in Costa Rica’s Guanacaste province.

The deal with subsidiary Fila de Mogote is for the supply and installation of seven V90-3.0 MW turbines. The contract, the value of which remained undisclosed, also includes a 10-year full-scope Vestas Active Output Management (AOM 5000) service agreement.

Vestas expects to initiate turbine delivery in the third quarter of 2015, with commissioning scheduled for the end of 2015. Upon completion, the Mogote wind park is expected to generate approximately 100 GWh of electricity per year, enough to meet the annual consumption of some 140,000 people, the developer calculates.

In 2014, the firm announced a 21-MW deal for the Tilawind wind plant in the same Costa Rican province. It will soon be completed and will bring the total number of wind farms using Vestas turbines in the country to four, including the 6.7-MW Aeroenergia, 24-MW Tierras Morenas and 19.8-MW Tejona wind farms, it noted.
