Vestas selects president for Mediterranean sales division

Danish wind turbine maker Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) has hired Eduardo Medina to head its Mediterranean sales business unit.

Eduardo Medina has occupied various positions, including leadership roles at Acciona Energy, part of Spanish Acciona SA (BME:ANA), US conglomerate General Electric (NYSE:GE), and US-based Enron Wind. Most recently, he was executive vice president of global power plants at US solar major SunPower (NASDAQ:SPWR).

“The Mediterranean region covers a vast number of strategic markets in Southern Europe, Latin America and Africa and Eduardo is, with his extensive experience from a diverse set of companies within renewables, the right person to take our Mediterranean region to the next level and continue our growth in mature and emerging markets”, said Juan Araluce, Vestas’ executive vice president and chief sales officer.

Eduardo Medina will work from Vestas’ base in Madrid. He will take up the new post from January 2, 2018, replacing Marco Graziano, who has left Vestas following mutual agreement.
