June 17 (Renewables Now) - Danish wind turbine maker Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) has received a 348-MW order for an unspecified project in Brazil.

The name of the project and its owner were kept under wraps upon the customer’s request, Vestas said in a press release on Wednesday.

Under the deal, the Danish firm will supply 81 turbines of its V150-4.2 MW model, delivered in 4.3 MW power optimised mode. The agreement also includes a five-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service contract. Vestas expects to supply the turbines and commission the equipment in 2023.

With this order, the manufacturer surpasses 5.3 GW in firm order intake of V150-4.2 MW wind turbines in Brazil, it noted.
