September 22 (Renewables Now) - Denmark's Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) announced on Wednesday it has received an order to deliver 104 MW of wind turbines to Polimix Energia Ltda in Brazil.

Under the contract, the manufacturer will supply 23 units of its V150-4.5 MW turbines to the Mundo Novo wind project in Sao Miguel do Gostoso, Rio Grande do Norte state.

Apart from delivering the equipment, Vestas will also service the machines under a 20-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) deal, it said.

The Danish firm will deliver the wind turbines in the third and fourth quarters of 2023, with the commissioning of the wind farm set to take place at the beginning of the second quarter of 2024.

Vestas Brazil senior sales director Eric Rodrigues Gomes noted that the equipment will be used to power the concrete plants of the Polimix Energia group in the northeast of Brazil. "This underlines how our solutions can support energy-intensive industries accelerate their energy transition by powering their operations in a sustainable and cost-effective way”, the executive said.
