Danish wind turbine maker Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) on Friday announced two orders to deliver equipment for 83 MW of projects in Greece and Poland.
The Greek order, awarded by local firm Mytilineos SA, concerns a 43-MW project that was awarded in a tender for wind power capacity in July 2019. Vestas will supply and install 12 units of its V136-3.45 MW turbines in a 3.6-MW operating mode for the Makrynoros wind farm in central Greece and will also service the machines as part of a 20-year Active Output Management 4000 (AOM 4000) service contract.
The manufacturer expects to start delivering the equipment in the last quarter of 2021, with commissioning planned to begin in June 2022.
Vestas’ turbines have also been chosen for the 40-MW Nowy Tomysl wind project in Poland, being developed by SPV Sevivon Windpark 2 Sp Zoo, a unit of Germany’s PNE AG (ETR:PNE3). To be located in Kuslin, western Poland, the power plant will use 12 V126-3.45 MW machines in 3.3 MW operating mode.
The project was one of the winners in Poland’s latest auction for renewables.
Vestas’ scope of work under this deal includes the supply, installation and commissioning of the turbines and a 20-year AOM 4000 service agreement. Deliveries and bringin the equipment online are scheduled for the closing quarter of next year.
The Danish firm noted it has put into operation 2.4 GW of wind turbine capacity in Poland and 1.9 GW in Greece.
