US Suniva to build 2nd PV module factory of 200 MW
Jul 23, 2014 - US solar products maker Suniva Inc said yesterday it will construct a second module factory at home with a production capacity of up to 200 MW.
The company did not mention how much it will invest in the project.
The new plant will be located in Saginaw Township, Michigan. Construction will start next month, while production is scheduled to commence in the final quarter of the year. Once fully-operational, the facility will provide jobs for 350 people.
Suniva manufactures crystalline silicon photovoltaic (PV) cells and panels. In particular, it makes monocrystalline modules with power ratings of up to 280 W per 60-cell piece and 330 W per 72-cell format.
The company's existing US PV cell and module factory is located in its home state of Georgia.
