(ADPnews) – Oct 6, 2010 – US solar photovoltaic (PV) solutions provider Siliken Renewable Energy, Inc has more than doubled to 30 MW the production capabilities of its panel factory in Otay Mesa, California.
The move reflects surging demand for the company’s modules and takes its total global manufacturing capacity to 300 MW.
The ramp-up in production is a direct result of Siliken establishing solid market presence in both existing and newly developing PV markets in the US, Canada and Mexico.
Siliken has recently enjoyed an upsurge in contracts including a municipal building project of the City of Chula Vista, which plans to install almost 500 kW of the company’s solar PV panels at 11 municipal sites.
The City is also working with Siliken to identify opportunities to install up to 1.1 MW of additional solar PV systems to help it offset 20% of its municipal facility energy demand through on-site renewable energy systems.
Siliken Renewable Energy (www.silikenusa.com) is engaged in the business of engineering, procurement and construction (EPC), turnkey solar solutions, sale and development of commercial and utility scale, grid-tied photovoltaic (PV) solar systems. It has extensive vertical integration by manufacturing its own electronics-grade silicon, racking solutions and production equipment and PV solar panel modules.
