Danish wind turbine supplier Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) announced on Friday orders in Brazil for a total of 554 MW.
France's EDF SA (EPA:EDF) has placed a 197-MW order for the Folha Larga II wind farm in Campo Formoso, Bahia state. Vestas will supply 47 of its V150-4.2 MW under that order, which also includes a 20-year Active Output Management (AOM 4000) service agreement. Installations are planned for 2020 while commissioning is planned for the first quarter of 2021.
The Folha Larga II order has helped Vestas exceed 2 GW of contracts for its V150-4.2 MW turbine in Brazil, it noted.
Separately, Brazilian energy company Echoenergia has ordered 18 of Vestas' V150-4.2 MW wind turbines totalling 76 MW for the final phase of the 273-MW Serra do Mel project in Rio Grande do Norte. This contract includes a ten-year AOM 5000 service agreement. Deliveries are set to begin in the second quarter of 2020, with commissioning scheduled for the following quarter.
As announced earlier, Vestas has also obtained a 281-MW order in Brazil tied to three unnamed projects. The company will supply and install 67 units of the V150-4.2 MW turbines, manufactured at its factory in Ceara. The start of deliveries is expected in 2021, while commissioning of the wind parks is seen by the end of that year.
