October 2 (SeeNews) - Canada-based SkyPower Global said on Thursday that its USD-4.3-billion (EUR 3.85bn) solar plan for Bangladesh includes 500 MW of fabrication and assembly facilities.

During the 70th United Nations General Assembly held in New York last weekend, the company unveiled its intentions to build a 2-GW solar power complex in Bangladesh over the next four years. It confirmed the news in a press release on Thursday, saying that the project will create more than 42,000 jobs.

The company did not give more details about the portion of the plan that calls for the construction of factories and assembly facilities.

During the past week, SkyPower also announced that it will double its solar investments in Kenya to about USD 4 billion, a 150-MW power purchase agreement (PPA) in India, and a plan to build a 200-MW solar complex in Djibouti.
