June 8 (Renewables Now) - All three defendants in a solar technology patent dispute initiated by South Korean firm Hanwha Q Cells got a reason to cheer as the US International Trade Commission (ITC) made a final determination of non-infringement.
Hanwha Q Cells claims that certain products by JinkoSolar (NYSE:JKS), LONGi Solar and REC Group infringed its US Patent 9,893,215. According to the ITC determination on June 3, however, there is no infringement of the asserted claims of the ‘215 patent.
JinkoSolar was the first to make an announcement. Then LONGi and REC confirmed the positive outcome of the case. With this final determination, the investigation which began with Hanwha Q Cells’ complaint in March 2019 is being terminated.
