Unitec Bio to start construction of USD 70m biodiesel plant
Jul 19, 2011 - Argentine biodiesel producer Unitec Bio today will officially start the construction of a USD 70 million (EUR 49.3m) biodiesel plant in the city of Puerto General San Martin in the Santa Fe province.
Argentina's president, Cristina Fernandez, will attend the ceremony, the president's office said yesterday.
The plant will start production in the second half of 2012 and will have a capacity for 240,000 tonnes of biodiesel a year.
Unitec will build the facility near its existing biodiesel plant, which produces also 240,000 tonnes a year.
The company wants to expand its facilities in Puerto General San Martin in order to produce a total one million tonnes of biodiesel a year.
