Uniper to buy power from 198-MW solar portfolio in Germany

German energy group Uniper SE (ETR:UN01) announced on Monday that it has entered into an off-take contract with a unit of Enerparc AG for the purchase of 208 GWh of solar power per year.

The power purchase agreement (PPA) with direct marketer Sunnic Lighthouse GmbH is tied to the output of 53 German solar parks with a combined capacity of about 198 MW. Power deliveries will begin as early as next month and will run until the end of 2027.

"The demand for green power is growing. In the course of the energy transition, we are not only decarbonizing our own power generation, but are already making more and more green power available to our customers so that they can achieve their own climate targets,” commented Niek den Hollander, chief commercial officer of Uniper.
