UK investors have shown interest in pouring a total of USD 4.01 billion (EUR 3.58bn) into solar and tidal power projects in Indonesia, the Jakarta Globe said this week, quoting a statement from a governmental body.
According to the report, Indonesia’s Investment Coordinating Board, or BKPM, has said in a statement that UK companies are keen on investing in solar power projects of over 10 MW in capacity and in offshore tidal energy schemes.
Some of the interested parties have turned to the BKPM for assistance in finding local partners, the board has added as cited by the newspaper, without giving more details.
BKPM seeks to lure some USD 56 billion in green investments from foreign entities plus IDR 448 trillion (USD 34.1bn/EUR 30.5bn) from domestic investors by 2019, the report says.
