Turbine supplier sought for 280-MW wind complex in Bahia - report

The Brazilian holding Itaguacu da Bahia Renovaveis SA (Iber) is looking, through a tender in February, for wind turbine suppliers for a 280-MW wind complex.

The Itaguacu da Bahia Wind Complex, as it is named, will have up to 140 wind turbines spread over 10 wind farms in the cities of Itaguacu da Bahia and Gentio do Ouro, both in the state of Bahia. The winning supplier will also be in charge of the transportation, insurance, complete assembly of equipment and operation and maintenance (O&M) of the parks, among other services, reported on Sunday local newspaper A Tarde.

Iber has a budget of BRL 1.42 billion (USD 368.8m/EUR 336.2m) for the project. The winner in the tender will be the company or consortium offering the lowest cost of energy.

The delivery and assembly of the wind turbines is planned for 2017 and the complex is scheduled to enter into commercial operation in April 2018. Its output would be enough to supply 720,000 households.
