Trina Solar to spend USD 800m to boost capacity, R&D at Changzhou Trina PV park
(ADPnews) - Dec 27, 2010 - Chinese photovoltaic (PV) products maker Trina Solar Ltd (NYSE:TSL) plans to pour some USD 800 million (EUR 609m) through 2013 in the Changzhou Trina PV park, seeking to expand its manufacturing capacity and research and development activity.
The project is motivated by the rising demand for the company's products, Trina Solar said in a statement on Monday.
At the same time, Trina announced that its unit Changzhou Trina Solar Energy Co Ltd has already exceeded its CNY-10-billion (USD 1.51bn/EUR 1.15bn) revenue target for 2010.
On November 30, Trina said it expects PV module shipments for the whole year to reach 1 GW, which represents a 151% year-on-year increase and is above a previous guidance of 900-930 MW.
