January 27 (Renewables Now) - Chinese photovoltaics (PV) maker Trina Solar Co Ltd said on Friday it has produced its first large-size module that uses a 210-mm silicon wafer.

The so-called 210 module deploys Trina Solar’s multi-busbar technology and has an innovative 1/3-cut design that the Chinese manufacturer says will “pave the way for the compatibility and integration of large-size, high-power modules and downstream systems.”

Trina Solar has been conducting research on the 210 modules since last year and is now working to speed up its efforts to turn into products that can go into mass production, “leading the PV industry into the era of 500 W module power."
