April 17 (SeeNews) - Chinese photovoltaics (PV) makers Trina Solar (NYSE:TSL) and JA Solar Holdings (NASDAQ:JASO) are interested in building manufacturing plants and solar parks in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.

Trina Solar, for instance, is exploring the possibilities to establish a production facility for PV panels there, the Hindu BusinessLine said Friday, citing a statement from the office of state chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

JA Solar Holdings, on its part, is thinking of constructing a 500-MW solar power plant in Andhra Pradesh. The company also intends to engage itself in manufacturing for both India and international markets, the paper cited the firm's president Xie Jian as saying.

The two solar majors were among the several Chinese firms to hold talks with the chief minister during his tour of the country. Other proposals included toy manufacturing, electronics and construction.
