Trina gets UK orders for 75 MW of Elementa energy storage

Trina Storage, the energy storage business of Chinese solar panel maker Trina Solar Co Ltd (SHA:688599), has closed contracts for the supply of equipment for two UK projects with a combined storage capacity of 75 MW/116 MWh.

First, the company will provide its Elementa-based next-gen energy storage solution for a 25-MW/58-MWh project in the midlands region of England, to be co-located with an existing solar photovoltaic (PV) installation there. It noted that this will be its first solar-plus-storage project in the UK.

Separately, Trina Storage will deliver a 50-MW/58-MWh system to smart energy infrastructure provider SMS plc for installation in Berkeley Gloucestershire, England.

The two new projects follow the signing of a deal in December for the 50-MW/102-MWh Swangate project in Yorkshire, Northern England.
