(SeeNews) - Oct 31, 2013 - Brazilian power generator Tractebel Energia (SAO:TBLE3) plans to launch all wind power plants part of its 115.4-MW Trairi complex by the end of 2013, the company's projects development director, Jose Luiz Jansson Laydner, told local energy news site Canal Energia yesterday.
Earlier this week, the company kicked off the test operation of 13 turbines at the 30-MW Guajiru, with a capacity of 2.3 MW each; and of 11 turbines, with the same capacity, at 25.4-MW Trairi wind power plants. Both plants form part of the complex, located in Trairi municipality, northeastern Ceara state, which also includes the parks Flexeiras and Mundau.
Tractebel initiated the construction of the complex in 2012. It will require a total of BRL 490 million (USD 223.7m/EUR 163.3m) investments, BRL 350 million of which financed by the Brazilian National Social and Economic Development Bank (BNDES). The complex has been planned to be launched earlier, but it depends on the start-up of the Pecem power substation, which will transport Trairi's output.
(BRL 1.0 = USD 0.456/EUR 0.332)
