TotalEnergies ENEOS to build 1-MWp rooftop solar array in Singapore

The joint venture (JV) of French energy group TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTE) and Japan’s ENEOS Holdings Inc (TYO:5020), will build a 1-MWp rooftop solar system for Singapore’s largest freehold automotive hub CARROS Centre.

TotalEnergies ENEOS Renewables Distributed Generation Asia Pte Ltd said on Wednesday the solar array will be capable of generating around 1,250 MWh of electricity per year, enough to power close to 275 four-room public housing (HDB) flats for one year.

The rooftop photovoltaic (PV) system is the second similar project between the parties, following the implementation of a 540-kWp solar array atop CARROS Centre in 2019.

Under the 25-year agreement, the Singapore-based JV will not only reduce CARROS Centre’s carbon footprint but also its electricity expenses, TotalEnergies pointed out in the press release.

TotalEnergies ENEOS focuses on developing B2B solar distributed generation (DG) projects in Asia, with a 2 GW of decentralised solar goal for the next five years.
