TotalEnergies buys 200-MW solar pipeline, biogas producer in Poland

French multi-energy group TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTE) said on Monday that is has acquired a biogas producer and a 200-MW solar projects pipeline in Poland under two separate deals.

The solar package, which enabled TotalEnergies to enter the Polish solar market, comes with six projects under development, with sites located in northern and western Poland.

TotalEnergies expects the first solar farms to become operational by 2025. According to a Reuters report on Monday, the projects were sold by a company called FFKM112.

The group also acquired Polish biogas producer Polska Grupa Biogazowa (PGB), which produces heat and power from biogas sourced from organic waste. PGB owns and operates 17 facilities in production and one under construction, giving TotalEnergies 166 GWh worth of power generation per year. PGB also has 23 projects in its development pipeline.

With the acquisition of PGB, TotalEnergies will have 1.1 TWh of biogas production, it said.
