to-the-point: Topaz, ABB renew contract for wind support vessel

Dubai-based offshore support vessel company Topaz Energy and Marine last week said that ABB (VTX:ABBN) will continue to use its cable laying vessel Topaz Installer.

Topaz has renewed its contract for the vessel with the Swiss-based power and automation technology group that was first signed in 2010. The agreement will see Topaz Installer provide ABB with cable-laying services for wind farms in the North Sea over a one-year period. It also includes options of at least 12 additional months.

Topaz, a subsidiary of Oman-listed Renaissance Services SAOG, operates a fleet of 100 offshore support vessels. Its customer, ABB, supplies high-voltage cable systems, installation and services for all kind of submarine and underground power transmission projects.
