Vertically-integrated photovoltaics (PV) firm SPI Energy Co Ltd (NASDAQ:SPI) has joined hands with a unit of Taiwanese solar cell and module maker Neo Solar Power Corp (TPE:3576) for over 20 MW of Japanese project sales in two years.
As part of the strategic partnership, SPI Solar Japan GK will provide local technical support and sales services to General Energy Solutions Inc (GES). The deal calls for the former to deliver more than 15 MW of project sales this year, followed by 5 MW in 2017, according to a press statement on Wednesday.
“As one of SPI Energy's core markets, we are delighted to deepen our presence in Japan and further support the development of the local clean energy industry,” chairman and CEO, Xiaofeng Peng, noted.
