to-the-point: SolarWorld gets 20-MW PV module order in Senegal

October 31 (SeeNews) - German photovoltaics (PV) maker SolarWorld (ETR:SWV) said on Monday it will supply 20 MW of solar modules for a ground-mounted facility in Senegal under a contract won by its Austrian partner Energie Merl.

The company will deliver 77,280 multicrystalline panels by March 2017 for a project in Senegal’s Kahone region. The particular scheme was tendered by local power company Senelec, according to the announcement.

SolarWorld noted that this would be one of the largest PV systems in the country.
