October 29 (Renewables Now) - German machinery maker RENA Technologies GmbH said today that over the past three months it has obtained a number of large-scale orders for crystalline silicon solar cell production, representing more than 10 GW of capacity.

The company did not mention the names of the customers, but described them as “three leading PERC solar cell manufacturers from Asia.” It noted that the combined value of the awarded contracts amounts to “tens of millions of euros.”

“With the new large-scale orders, the solar industry sector is contributing to the further growth of the company alongside the semiconductor, glass and medical technology sectors,” commented CEO Peter Schneidewind.
