January 10 (Renewables Now) - Peru's Ministry of Energy and Mines announced on Tuesday the appointment of Angela Maria del Rosario Grossheim Barrientos as the country's new energy minister.
Before replacing Cayetana Aljovin, Grossheim Barrientos served as deputy minister of energy for about four months. Grossheim Barrientos was previously general secretary of the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
In her recently opened Twitter account, the new minister promised to work tirelessly to bring the benefits of mining, energy and hydrocarbons to all Peruvian homes.

Grossheim Barrientos has also worked in the private sector as the head of project development at IC Power, a subsidiary of Israeli Kenon Holdings Ltd.
